1 The app does not display a route summary. 2 App does not have Way Points 3 When select points of interest near me. App does not display POI nearby. 4 App does not have route avoidance or blocking routes. Needs a lot of work. 5 App does not display alternate Routes. The previous version is a lot better. 6 needs turn-by-turn list like the previous app did.

I have had the US-Canada version of tomtom ever since the iPhone 3GS it has never failed me yet. Now the people from TomTom removed the unlimited traffic yearly subscription to just a 99 cents per month subscription just to push everyone over to this new tomtom go mobile app. Which without a yearly subscription or the 3-year subscription it pretty much becomes a useless 50 miles per month limited peace of crab of an app. I didn’t even want to upgrade in the first place but they kept the splash page kind of vague so I had to clicked on it to see what it was about. Now I own this crap and I don’t know if they are going to stop updating the US-Canada version of tomtom or if they do continue to update it; how long till they don’t.

I have the old Tomtom on my iPhone 6 Plus and love it but this go version is so bad it is unbearable rate it a zero.

I was going to make a delivery so I typed in the address and started driving, then I noticed that I was weirdly on the same avenue I take to go home. This piece of trash set directions to my home address even though I typed in a whole different destination. This cost me money, fuel and time. Here Maps outwins this horrible app. Incomparable to Google Maps. Not to mention the very confusing UI. Extremely disappointed.

Google Maps app and Apple Maps have option to route audio through bluetooth. This app should have the same, but doesn’t currently.

I give 2 stars because if Id not previously used to old Tom Tom navigation app, Id probably think Tom Tom Go was "eh... ok" but having used the real thing, this version is awful. Extremely un-intuitive, no method to search my contacts for a particular address, and otherwise very mediocre. Bland pointless and if I hadnt gotten the "upgrade for free" offer I would be demanding my money back. Im going back to the original Tom Tom app. Hoping I can now after accepting the free upgrade... Yikes!

I only own this app because they gave it to me for free. I use Tomtom USA and I think they are trying to phase that out. Tomtom USA is far superior - this app feels half-baked and is missing so many features its just unusable. Dont waste your money on this.

I was expecting a new app with new ADDITIONAL features. This app doesnt have the most rudimentary mapping features. I travel a lot and the old app was (still is) my go to mapping app. I would use the piece of crap built in Apple app before I would ever use this app. When they have ALL of the features the old version already has, Ill give it a try. Not ready to beta test your software for you while navigating DC traffic.

Update - Ive revised my rating to 3. Ive had more time to use it and get used to the new interface. It has performed well for me so far. There is a little lag from time to time, especially with turns. But, if you pay attention to where youre going, its not a big deal. Your eyes shouldnt be glued to this screen anyway. A couple issues kept this from a higher rating. The lane help is not as good as it used to be. Especially when you get to a downtown area where there are many on/off ramps and exits. If I didnt know the area, Im sure Id have gotten lost with this layout. Second, still not travel via option. The old app, i still use more than the new, because I need to be able to set way points. Its a feature thats sadly missing. I dunno, maybe they thought no one used it. But I used it all the time for work. Fix these issues and youve got a 4-5 star app Original review: Ok. So first, everyone had to see a subscription coming. Apple forces all updates to be free. Yet, Making updated maps for you is not free. Im fine with that. 3 years free, thank you. And even after three the pricing is reasonable. The issue I have is the travel via option is missing. I would often plot routes with several stops. I cant find that feature anywhere in the new version. That and the interface still seems a bit clunky. But, that may simply be mere exposure effect in full effect. Ill try it out tomorrow, but without the travel via feature, I cant imagine using this for very long.

I have been using the Tomtok app for 5 years and have enjoyed it greatly. Now having to upgrade to the new one with a yearly fee is just greed on their part. (Yes mine is free for 3 years because I own it. New owners are slapped with a corporate greed fee) But the to upgrade and not have the new app grab my addresses from the Tomtom cloud? I would say if youre going to purchase this app -DONT. Why give this company more money in their greedy pockets when they cant even do simple things like this? Why pay a fee? Apps should not be allowed to do this.

The search is fantastic but my phone loses power so fast when its plugged in. Ugh!

Im a long term user of TomTom. I normal recommend it to all my friends. But this app no way. First its had to use. You have to read about it, study it, watch tutorials, and its still hard to use. Theres nothing intuitive about this app. Second problem is that it requires access to cell data. Massive amounts of cell data. Why???? This app looks great but fails on usability.

Tragically bad application! Confusing, discombobulated UI, wasted space on unduly oversized icons... GPS apps need to be >usable<, this one miserably fails at that! And, as a cherry on top, TomTom wants you to eventually subscribe to use this abomination! Not me, not ever, Ive deleted it! Good riddance!

Not enough memory to even download. Im going to use waze moving forward. Disappointed

I wasn’t really sure how many (or few) stars to rate this, as I haven’t downloaded any maps to even be able to use it, because the maps are too big. Perhaps if they release a version without the 3D images the map files will be smaller again and I’ll give it a try.

It was really nice for them to add the ability to add contacts for destinations, but the lack of waypoint support taking my traffic away from my old app is not cool. Get on it tom-tom!

This app is somewhat good. The map is reasonable but is missing many parks and significant locations. Navigation is fairly well calculated (only if on the right setting for a type of route, however, the better Navs seem to calculate the best route regardless of this setting) and its voice guidance is okay. I especially like that this app tells you well in advance which side your destination is on so you can plan where to park by the time you arrive. This app does needs some serious optimization (the map and other functions lag quite a bit and this is on the latest 6s plus) but I imagine that is coming once the upcoming features are fully completed. Also, this app burns through the battery more than twice as fast as any other Nav app and makes my phone heat up significantly. I am fine with the gas stations showing on the progress bar on the right because they dont effect the map itself but the user should be able to select which POI displays or none at all. The one thing that will keep me from purchasing further is the subscription model. Like many, I dont like ongoing subscriptions. I much prefer a fair one time fee. Hard to say though which pricing model will be best; a higher one time fee or a lower ongoing subscription fee. I would bet many will lean away from the subscription fee.

Very much enjoy TomTom. This "Go" app is really bad on all aspects. Dont go with Go...
