Why does this app even exist?

Everything about this app has profit generation in mind vs. consumer needs. Terrible interface with small buttons and search bar, huge size of preloaded maps, limited navigation with subscription. I understand that the company needs to earn money to update their maps regularly and I wouldnt mind paying $5-10 a year for major map updates, but the original app is still the most reliable and functional solution out there.
